Nov Writing Test

This my writing test,

There once was a boy his name was Josh, he is 10 years old and he lived on a farm. Josh called for his dad, but there was no answer. Then he called for his dad again, but still no answer, then he heard a whisper saying  ‘‘help me sonnnnnn,” then it was gone.

That night he had a dream that his dad pulled a prank on him, and hissed “that there are no such things as ghost.”But josh yelled “ where have you been,” then his dad was gone. Josh ran and ran and ran till he woke up.

the next day, josh heard someone laughing in the attic. So he walked up the ladder, and saw his dad laughing. Josh said “where have you been i have been looking all over for you i thought you were died, ” and his dad said “ it was a prank.”

An Organic Orchard

Marjorie  Clark runs an organic orchard in Kerikeri. She relies on nature to do its thing. Marjorie makes juice out of there damaged oranges. she does not like wasps.

Farming Fishing

There’s a boy named Richard and he lives in a village called Togori on the island of Makira in the Solomon island. In his village fish is very important to them. If the weather bad or the sea is rough they often have to do without fish. In his village they don’t my much of their food from shops, they grow, collect, harvest and catch most of their food.

Richard has an uncle named Isaiah and he is the big man or chief of the village. His Idea was to build pons for the fish to grown in. Most of the work had to be done in the early morning or evening because it is very hot there in the middle of the day. Three years after the first fish were put in the ponds, they were ready to be caught and eaten.

The Hare and the Tortoise

Hi my name is larry the tortoise, and for a good reason. I am really slow and have a head like cabbage, and feet like Brussels sprouts.
While I was eating grass, Speedy, the hare, came. Then the fox pop up, and said “ I’ll lay a bet that the tortoise can beat you in a race.”and Speedy said “Pah! “I’ll beat that old tortoise over any distance, any day, any time.”


We were going on a race, up the hill and back again. At last the fox called out: “Ready, Steady Go !” Speedy hung around for a moment to see me lumber off the starting line, but I was taking so long about it that he  got bored and shot off towards the hill.


How did the fox ever think that I could win? When I got around the corner I saw Speedy sitting near a tree and having a nap.As I was winning, it was getting dark. I got to the finish line and won.were waiting for speedy but he was still a sleep.So i went home and went to sleep too.                 The moral of the story was slow and steady wins the race.

Antarctic seals have a thick layer of blubber under their skin, to keep them warm.

During winter,  the sun does not rise in Antarctica, so it is really dark.

Leopard seals prey on Antarctic Penguins, for their dinner

Tangram Puzzle

Today we learned about Tangrams, if you don’t what Tangram is it is a Chinese puzzle. here is picture of a house that  I did with a Tangram.

Whales

Penguins live in the southern ocean.  Penguins are birds that does not live in the north.

Penguins can not fly. But they love waddling ashore.

In winter the sun does not rise. There is an icy gale coming this way and the temp drops.

Penguins survive the whole winter. penguin live on the pack ice.

penguins have thick layer of skin its called blubber.the skin keeps them warm in the cold.

the skin on the penguins are fluffy.the feathers are water proof

Whales

Whales are not fish they are mammals. whales live all over the oceans, and are the largest in the world.

Groups of Whales are called pods. Male whales are called bulls, The baby is called a Calf, and  the female is called a Cow.

They have very large mouths. Whales have fat called blubber to keep them warm under the water.

Some whales have peg liked teeth, but some have no teeth.  Whales with no teeth, they are called baleen.
